about

This project was dedicated to my great friend Michael Hedges (1953-1997). It was in the works before and after his death. It includes a closing funeral suite that i composed in his honor. The title uses the nickname I had for him, Fabric Boy. This collection also includes my slide guitar take of the song, The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn, that Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, and Jerry Douglas used as the basis of their own platinum selling version with Union Station in 2001.

The cover image is of a tie my father wore while working for the Carnation Milk Company in Fontana, CA in the late 50's. The backdrop is a stomp board made for me by wood imagineer Roy Hyde from Fairhope Alabama, also in 1997.
